Laurent Pelissier - Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Laurent Pelissier founded Ultrasonix in 2000. Since the company's inception, he has provided the technical vision and leadership to develop the OpenSONIX ultrasound platform and  associated products. Laurent was instrumental in transforming the company from an R&D venture into a global, profitable company with sales in more than 68 countries.  The company's first product, the Sonix RP, is the leading research tool for developing new ultrasound diagnostic technologies.  Designed for emerging ultrasound imaging applications, the Sonix Series of ultrasound systems is making ultrasound technology more accessible for new users thanks to customizable touch screens and simplified workflows.  Laurent is also the driving force behind SonixGPS from Ultrasonix, a revolutionary needle guidance technology for interventional procedures.  Laurent holds a M. Sc in Electrical Engineering from Ecole National Superieure de l'Electronique et ses Application (ENSEA) in Cergy Pontoise, France.



Don Wright - Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer

Don Wright is a CMA and brings Ultrasonix an extensive and varied background in finance and business operations with nearly 25 years in the media industry. Before joining Ultrasonix in 2008, Don was Director of Finance for Pacific Newspaper Group, publisher of the Vancouver Sun and Province, and prior to that was VP Business Operations for Global Television Western Operations.



Raffaello Aquino - Director of Customer Service

Raffaello Aquino has more than 8 years of customer service and technical support experience. Prior to joining Ultrasonix in 2005, Raffaello worked for Mobile Data Solutions and eBay Inc. Today he is responsible for ensuring Ultrasonix customers are provided with excellent service, which includes effectively managing installations, periodic maintenance, service plans, technical support, and service repair of Ultrasonix products. Raffaello holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering, option Computer, from the University of British Columbia.



Jim Branman - Vice President of Sales, US

Jim Branman is an accomplished sales leader with more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Ultrasonix in 2011, he was the National Sales Manager at CardioNexus.  Jim has a spent the majority of his career working for ultrasound companies including SonoSite, where he had increasing levels of responsibility: he managed the western region for five years before becoming Director, then Vice President of US Sales.  Before joining Sonosite, Jim worked for the ultrasound divisions of General Electric and ATL (now Philips Healthcare).  Jim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in History with a minor in Political Science from Illinois State University.  He has also studied at the Kellogg School of Management.



Kris Dickie - Director of Research and OEM

Kris Dickie joined Ultrasonix in 2000 as a software engineer, where he quickly became acquainted with ultrasound technology and the field of medical research. Today he manages the research and OEM business of Ultrasonix, which includes over 200 installations of university-based research devices and other startups making use of Ultrasonix OpenSONIX technology. Kris holds a B.Tech in Computer Systems from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Burnaby, Canada.



Jack Du - General Manager, China

Jack Du has more than 24 years experience in the medical field, including 5 years as a physician in a hospital, 8 years in the pharmaceutical field and 11 years marketing  Diagnostic Ultrasound Systems. Prior to joining Ultrasonix, Jack was the country manager for Sonosite and Zonare medical systems in China where he successfully managed their ultrasound business. Jack holds a  Bachelor's degree in medical science from Shanghai Medical University and an MBA Degree from Royal Road University in Canada.



Marcia Figueiredo - Regional Manager, Latin America and Caribbean

Marcia Figueiredo has spent more than 17 years specializing in the sale of new, pre-owned and refurbished diagnostic imaging equipment into Latin America and the Caribbean. In 2005, she began distributing Ultrasonix machines throughout the Caribbean and South America and has closely followed Ultrasonix’s trajectory through the years. For the last three years, Marcia was a managing partner for a radiology sales wholesaler and expanded her product knowledge to include all facets of diagnostic imaging. Her ability to communicate fluently in English, Spanish and Portuguese makes her a natural fit to manage our Latin American and Caribbean distribution network.   



Greig Hyland - Vice President of Sales, Canada 

Greig Hyland is responsible for expanding the sales team across Canada.  He has more than 20 years of clinical and sales management experience in the diagnostic imaging healthcare industry. Prior to joining Ultrasonix in 2009 as General Manager for sales in Canada, Greig worked for GE Healthcare as an Account Executive for ultrasound systems.  He also worked at DuPont Pharma as a territory manager for radiopharmaceuticals. Greig is a graduate of Nuclear Medicine from the Foothills Provincial Hospital in Calgary, Alberta.



Franck Labbe - General Manager, EMEA

Franck Labbe has more than 20 years of experience in medical imaging. For the last four years he has been the CEO of France Medical Systems, which successfully distributed Ultrasonix products in France. Prior to founding his own company, Franck worked for Philips Healthcare as Sales and Marketing Manager for the French Territory (CT MR Nuclear Medicine X-ray and CV). He started his career as a commercial engineer at ATL, and then became Area Manager of France representing Cardio-Vascular products for ATL.



Eileen McDougall - Director of HR and Administration

Eileen McDougall is a certified Canadian Human Resources Professional (CHRP).  She brings to Ultrasonix more than 25 years of experience in Administration and Human Resources from a variety of industries ranging from media to real estate to automobile insurance.  Prior to joining Ultrasonix, Eileen’s most recent position was Manager of Human Resources for 2 television stations – Citytv Vancouver and Omni BC – owned and operated by Rogers Media.



Gunnar Olafsson - General Manager Sales, Europe

Gunnar Olafsson is a seasoned medical business professional with a strong clinical background.  He joined Ultrasonix in January 2010.   Gunnar graduated with a B.Sc. in Physiology and then joined Glasgow's Royal Children Hospital as a Cardiac Physiologist. After thirteen years he left to head up the Cardiac Department at the Royal Children Hospital in Edinburgh. He made his move to the vendor side of the medical business four years later when he joined Toshiba Medical Systems Europe. In 2004 Gunnar joined SonoSite where he set up their European Education Centre and then moved into the roles of Clinical Marketing Manager & Distributor Manager for the Western Europe territories. In 2008 Gunnar joined BCF Technology as International Distributor Manager.



Linda Pendziwol - Senior Manager of Clinical Applications

Linda brings more than 25 years of clinical experience to Ultrasonix. She is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and an active member of the ARDMS, CSDMS, CARDUP, and SDMS Diagnostic Ultrasound Professional Associations. Linda has been involved with Ultrasonix as a clinical and product advisor since the company’s early years. She provided beta software testing on the first clinical Ultrasonix system, which was installed at a luminary site. Linda officially joined Ultrasonix in 2010 where she continues to share and develop her passion for ultrasound technology through her involvement with clinical applications, product development and the Edusonix Educational Institute.



Neena Rahemtulla - Director of Marketing

Neena Rahemtulla is responsible for developing and implementing marketing, communication, public relations, and education strategies that will contribute to enhanced brand awareness and revenue growth. Neena has marketed technology products at various global companies including Cymbolic Sciences (now OCE), Xantrex Technology, MDSI, ACL Services, SAP and CDC Software. Neena holds a B.A. in English and Psychology from the University of Calgary and a BASc in Communications from Simon Fraser University.



David Woodhead - General Manager of EMEA Dealers

David Woodhead has more than 24 years of technical and sales management experience in the healthcare industry, 15 years of which were in the international sales of Diagnostic Ultrasound Systems. Prior to joining Ultrasonix, David was International Sales Manager for Enverdis GmbH in Germany where he successfully launched a range of novel and unique cardiovascular diagnostic systems into the international healthcare market. For many years David also held positions of increasing responsibility in international sales with Dynamic Imaging Ltd, UK. David holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Leicester Polytechnic (now De Montfort University), Leicester, UK.
